Tiffany Malthouse is a young Western Aranda woman, living in Alice Springs with family in Hermannsburg, Ntaria. She says, “I’m the funny kid, that makes people laugh sometimes. When they’re sad, when they’re stressed out, I make them laugh. I was taught to sing by Gus Williams, and Warren H. Williams too. Singing is my passion, and my family is my passion too.”
In 2011 Tiffany was involved in the Incite Arts production ‘Close to Me’ at Araluen Theatre. She is an active member of ‘stArts with D’ Performance Ensemble, having participated in all major ‘stArts with D’ projects since its formation in 2013. She was also the NT representative selected to attend the 2014 Arts Access Australia and Weave Movement Theatre intensive workshops with UK based artist Caroline Bowditch. Tiffany has presented work at both 2015 & 2016 Unbroken Land presentations and continues to be inspired by new ideas and exploring artistic mediums.
For Unbroken Land 2018, Tiffany has been working on two electronic music compositions and a dance piece, working with, K-girl, a performer, singer, songwriter, facilitator and community worker, based in Alice Springs.
When asked what her favourite things about performing are, Tiff said..
“When you meet someone new in the audience or when you’re doing a performance they are there for you. It’s so scary at the same time. It’s nerve racking but when you look at someone and they’re looking at you, they will just be so happy to see you. That’s the most real thing I’ve learned from people.”
