Spring News From Incite Arts

We have been busy here at Incite Arts! The virtual delivery of the first part of our Unbroken Land 2020 program has certainly been exciting.

We’ve released six episodes so far titled Water, Fire, Flood, Storm, Rain and Bloom.

Water and Fire are part of our Connect 2 Culture program with our long term Incite Arts super stars Tiffany Malthouse and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Trew.

Flood, Storm and Rain are part of our Move Masters program and features Tiff and Lizzie and stunning performances from fellow members of the stArts with D Performance Ensemble, Monique Sebastiani, Issac Trew, Janice Carrol, Michael Wallace, Caleb McMillan, Fabian Miller, Stuart Keech, Brandon Williams and Lance Gill.

Bloom is a stop motion chalk animation created by the marvellous artist Sarah Cook of, among many other things, Circosis Circus fame.

We’ve been striving to make these episodes as accessible as possible with all available in closed captioned and audio described versions. The closed captions also feature the languages of the artists, Western Aranda/Arrernte and Pitjantjatjara, and also the English translations. Be sure to watch them with closed captioning if you want to read these. Additionally, the beautiful voice of Anders Pfeiffer in the audio described versions is a must listen!

Along with the release of these episodes we ran a community-engaged lantern making workshop with lots of beautiful lanterns made by many happy people. These images are just a few of the great photos of the artworks that were created and sent to us. We will be doing a further lantern project in our Unbroken Land 2020 program with an artist call out on the way soon…Stay tuned.

As we get stuck into producing new episodes for our Unbroken Land 2020 program, we are grateful to be able to do so at the glorious Alice Springs Desert Park. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for the beginnings of wildflower season, are you?
